Asprasar is a young organization located in southeastern Tolima, and was formed in early 2016 with a goal of improving the quality of life of its members through earning higher prices for their coffee.
Asprasar's members are primarily small-lot farmers located in the Tolima region of Colombia. It started with 17 women and 83 men, and its members grow coffee between 1,500 and 2,100 meters above sea level.
Asprasar is committed to preserving the environment for future generations and has achieved an impressive number of certifications: organic, NOP, EU, Jas, FLO, Rainforest Alliance, UTZ, and Manos de Mujer. Currently, the association has 91 members, with two quality control laboratories at different collection points to guarantee the quality of the coffee. It has two collection and trading points in the townships of Bilbao, Planadas and Herrera, De Rioblanco in order to provide a greater ease of coffee transport.
